Staff at failed personal injury law firm lose their jobs

ALL 16 staff at Greater Manchester personal injury law firm Isaac Abraham Solicitors have been made redundant.

The company with offices in Bury and Oldham went into administration on September 14 with the appointment of corporate recovery specialist Quantuma’s Andrew Hosking and Sean Bucknall.

Quantuma said its team has moved quickly to ensure clients’ interests and clients’ monies are fully protected.

The joint administrators have appointed the specialist regulatory team at Ashfords, led by partner Sam Palmer, as Solicitor Manager, to provide regulatory support and advice.

Isaac Abrahams was established in 2011 by partners Taher Shad and Safina Shah, operating from two offices in Oldham and Bury. There were seven staff employed at Oldham and nine at Bury. All have been made redundant.

Shah resigned from the practice in August 2016 following the intervention of the Solicitors Regulatory Authority in to her part of the practice and the loss of her practising certificate.

Hosking said: “Unfortunately, this meant that there was no viable future for the practice and it has resulted in Isaac Abraham being placed into administration.”

Following the appointment, a pre-pack sale of the work in progress previously handled by Taher Shad’s road traffic accident practice in Oldham has been agreed to a new firm, Inaaya Solicitors Ltd, a private limited company 100% owned by Mr Shad.
