Firm appointed to create reception area for £40m development

MANCHESTER-based interior design studio SpaceInvader has been appointed to create a unique reception space at the £40m Two St Peter’s Square in the city.

The office building, which is currently under construction and due for completion in early 2017, is an integral part of the winder redevelopment plans for St Peter’s Square, and will bring more than 160,000sq ft of Grade A office accommodation to the market as well as 5,000sq ft of retail space.

Mosley Street Ventures has appointed SpaceInvader to the project.

Designed by architects Simpson Haugh and project managed by Swithenbank Property Consultants, it has already been confirmed that EY will move into the eighth, ninth and tenth floors.

Spread across 4,000sq ft, the ground floor reception area has been designed to provide a five-star executive lounge environment for both occupiers and visitors to enjoy.

A space for informal meetings, quiet individual working, collaboration, social gatherings and chance encounters.

John Williams, director at SpaceInvader, said: “Having previously worked on the interior aspects of Manchester Central Library during its £48m refurbishment, we are extremely excited to be working on another landmark building within St Peter’s Square.

“The redevelopment of the area has already made an immeasurable difference to the city centre and the completion of Two St Peter’s Square will only add to this.

“Occupiers are switching on to the benefits of good design, not only in their immediate office space, but also in the entrance and communal areas within their building.”

Darryl Lee, Director at Mosley Street Ventures Ltd, added: “SpaceInvader has a proven track record of delivering inspirational spaces for occupiers and developers alike, but their attention to detail, creative vision and one team approach really sets them apart and we are delighted to be working with them at Two St. Peter’s Square.

“The scheme they have produced is timeless and elegant, it sets the tone for the whole building and will create a space suitable for a private telephone call, one-to-one meeting or evening drinks reception.”
