Kitchen and bedroom firm celebrates 220% profit growth to £640K

BLACKBURN-based supplier kitchens and fitted bedroom furniture to house builders, developers and commercial contractors is celebrating spectacular year-end profits.

Year on year profit it up to 220% to £640,000 from £200,000 and turnover has doubled to £4.5m, helped by its burgeoning performance in the residential property sector.

The company, which also has a site in Reading, is also crediting the success to continued investment in plant and machinery and its commitment to renewable energy solutions.

In addition to bolstering its warehousing by a further 8,000sq ft at its Accrington Road operation, an investment in a new production line of new CNC machinery has further enhanced its manufacturing capabilities – helping the firm to increase its monthly supply of bespoke kitchens for house building projects across the UK.

It has also been awarded several high profile and large scale contracts this year, including the supply and project management of 375 kitchens in new apartment schemes by Muse Developments; supply and project management of a range of traditional and bespoke kitchens for Wain Homes, Aquinna Homes, Sisk Construction, Westerman Homes and Cussins Development as well as a landmark commission for a high spec bespoke kitchen within an exclusive property in Chiswick, London.

In light of its growth, staff numbers have swelled to more than 30 people employed across its two sites in Blackburn and Reading; the appointment of a new sales manager Rich Casement-Anderson and installation manager Lenny Minero; and it has tripled its transport fleet.

Managing director Barry Casement said: “Three years ago we set out an ambitious growth plan and have exceeded all targets and we look forward to further growing the business in the next three years to a £10m turnover business.

“While our core customer base of small to medium regional house builders creating new housing developments has remained robust, we have rapidly expanded into new areas such as permitted build, apartments, student accommodation and social housing through to more prestigious top end developments.”

“Word of mouth recommendation still drives our new business and we’re delighted that our customers go on to recommend us time after time.”

Lanzet is now in its 26th year, having been established in 1985 under its former name of Interior Contracts. A rebrand and marketing drive in 2011 cemented the firm’s identity among the industry helping it to grow market share and its reputation as a reliable supplier in this time-and-budget pressured industry.

Casement added: “Undoubtedly, our ability to handle the whole kitchen installation process – from designing off plan to professional installation – is supporting our ongoing success.

“By increasing efficiencies our average lead time is just three weeks. Contractors see the value and time savings made by outsourcing the kitchen specification part of their overall schemes to us as their supply partner, providing product choice, surveying and measurement, design and fit.”
