Update: Vehicle fire causes long delays on M6

THERE are long delays in both directions on the M6 due to a vehicle fire.

Lane restrictions remain on the M6 northbound within J20 (M56 intersection) whilst the Fire Service continues with dampening down work following a lorry fire, which is causing long delays from J18 (Middlewich).

There were lane restrictions on the M6 southbound between J21 and J20 but these have been lifted, however the long delays southbound are taking time to clear.

The northbound entry slip road at J20 is currently closed but the link roads from the M56 east and westbound to the M6 northbound have re-opened.
