Physio’s £130K funding deal to secure move to former Co-op building

Physiotherapist of 20 years standing John Griffiths has secured a £130,000 funding package to move into larger premises in a move from Macclesfield in Cheshire to a former Co-op building in nearby Prestbury.

The deal with the Royal Bank of Scotland  which takes him to his new headquarters has allowed him to increase his treatment rooms from three to five, along with additional services to complement his physiotherapy offering.

These include podiatry, reflexology, hypnotherapy, counselling, osteopathy and pilates.

Griffiths will rent out his treatment rooms to a number of healthcare professionals.

Two new positions have been created – a part-time receptionist and an additional physiotherapist. Griffiths now employs five members of staff.

A complete refurbishment took place to renovate the building by transforming it into a place that is modern, relaxing and professional. In addition, it is now a disabled friendly business as it operates over the ground floor level and has designated parking spaces at the rear of the building.

Griffiths’ aim is to increase his annual turnover to achieve a figure of £260,000 in the next financial year, this equates to a 10% increase which he hopes to repeat year on year.

Griffiths, a co-director of John Griffiths Physiotherapy, said: “This is a huge step to take but one we are more than ready for.

“This expansion allows us to provide more patient availability from 7am-8.30pm five days a week, plus a Saturday clinic for those that need accommodating. The team is growing fast too and we are delighted about introducing our newest team members, who I have no doubt will settle in and make a real difference.

“The plan was always to open up a wider range of healthcare services on offer and now we have the space to do this we have become a one stop shop for our customer’s healthcare needs. I’m sure these will be well received.”

Bev Berzins, business relationship manager at Royal Bank of Scotland, added: “We’ve worked with John for a long time and so pleased we could support him in securing suitable premises that will allow him to grow further and expand his services in the local area.”
