Building firm set to continue tradition of hiring apprentices
Bolton-based builder and developer Seddon is celebrating the start of National Apprenticeship Week 2017 on Monday (March 6 to 10) by announcing its latest round of apprenticeship vacancies.
Seddon has taken on apprentices for more than 80 years and employs 77 trainees across the country.
The firm is looking to recruit 11 apprentices across the bricklaying, carpentry and joinery, painting and decorating, plastering and plumbing.
The roles, which will be based at the company’s sites throughout the North West, are available for people aged 16 and above.
Candidates are being invited to take part in a three-stage recruitment process comprising group interviews, Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) testing and one-to-one interviews.
Successful candidates will start on the September 5, with a four-day induction including health and safety training.
All new trainees are allocated a learning mentor – a current Seddon employee who will help ensure they are competent in skills and professionalism, including the confidence to succeed.

The company’s apprentices receive three and a half years training, above the national average of three years, with 97% remaining with the company after their course has finished.

During National Apprenticeship Week, Seddon will also promote the benefits of apprenticeships and the roles available in the construction industry with various events held in the region.
