Nycomm set for multi-million pound warehouse expansion

Communications supply specialist Nycomm Group has embarked on a multi-million pound warehouse expansion at its site in Agecroft, Salford.

Work has begun to increase floor space by more than a third in a scheme due to be completed by October.

Group chairman Julian Niman said the project represents a symbol of how Nycomm is gearing up for an even brighter future – following two recent acquisitions and the imminent launch of a new trade catalogue which showcases an expanded 8,000-strong product range.

He said: “Over the last 36 years we’ve come a long way. I started the business repairing CB radios from limited space at my father’s jewellery business and this latest expansion gives us room to grow even bigger and better.

“The business continues to diversify and we sell all manner of communication and technology solutions from a simple cable clip through to a complete unified communications system, connectivity and end points – backed by the highest levels of service, support and logistics excellence.”

The expansion of the warehouse will be from its current 36,000sq ft to almost 50,000.

Niman continued: “This gives us much more order processing space particularly as our Nimans Home retail operation continues to accelerate at a rapid rate.

“Pallet volumes and order tonnage are up 50% year-on-year already. The expansion sends out a very strong message that the business is growing and we are continuing to invest in the future.”

“I first made a commitment to sign a long-term lease on our initial Broadway building on the outskirts of Manchester, then I made an even bigger commitment to build our current multi-million-pound headquarters at Agecroft. It’s all about staying one step ahead of the game.

Nycomm is working in partnership with construction specialists The Casey Group, on the warehouse expansion.
