Jewel in the crown for Beaverbrooks chairman with Royal role

The chairman of jewellery retailer Beaverbrooks has been appointed Deputy Lieutenant for Greater Manchester.

Mark Adlestone, who was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2015 and awarded an OBE for his services to business and charity in the North, will assist the Lord-Lieutenant in his role as The Queen’s representative in Greater Manchester.

Adlestone said: “I am proud and honoured and see this appointment as a great reflection on our wonderful company.

“This is a wonderful and exciting opportunity for me and I look forward to developing my involvement within the community and from time to time undertaking public duties on behalf of the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester.”

Lancashire-based Beaverbrooks was established in 1919 and has 69 stores across the UK.
