Scapa to beat forecasts

SCAPA Group, the Tameside-based supplier of technical adhesive tapes, has said that it expects its full-year performance to be ahead of expectations after experiencing strong growth during the first six months of the year.

The company, which is led by chief executive Heejae Chae, is due to report its interim figures to September 30 next month. This morning it said that a positive start made in the first quarter had continued throughout the fist half of the year with “strong” performances in both its medical and industrial markets.

“While remaining cautious in the face of increasing commodity prices and currency fluctuations, the Board expects full year performance to be ahead of current market expectations,”  the company said in a statement to the stock exchange.
