Christmas comes early for decorations supplier

A NORTH West designer and importer of festive decorations has secured an early Christmas present – a £1m+ funding package from Yorkshire Bank.

Stockport-based Triflora, which also sources lighting and glasswear and sells to the trade, is in the midst of its busiest period as retailers prepare for the Christmas rush.
Yorkshire Bank has provided loan, overdraft and invoice finance facilities, to allow Triflora to purchase stock from overseas.

Managing director Craig Abbotson said: “Our buyers travel extensively, consulting with many designers and manufacturers, to provide safe, quality, innovative and cost effective ranges for retailing in a very competitive market.

“Once again, we have invested significant time into sourcing and developing new products from around the world and the facilities provided by Yorkshire Bank are
integral to our success.”

Founded in 1995, Triflora is one of the country’s leading importers of Christmas decoration products. The company employs 17 people and is based on Cromwell Road, Bredbury. As well as Christmas ranges it also supplies Easter decorations and novelties, silk flowers, wedding products, and decorative glassware.

Steve Molyneux, partner at Yorkshire Bank’s Manchester financial solutions centres, said: “The months leading up to Christmas are a crucial time for businesses like Triflora, which must ensure they have the necessary working capital to fund the huge uplift in orders.

“The banking facilities we are providing will give Triflora the resources it needs to maximise this latest growth opportunity.”
