In brief: MC2 raises £10k for charity; Double letting by LSH
A charity evening organised by Manchester marketing consultancy MC2 has raised more than £10,000 for the Bobby Moore Fund.
The event, held at Dukes 92, attracted 140 people, and included entertainment from top comedian, John Bishop, an auction, a raffle and dinner.
The money raised will pay for the renovation of a school in the remote Ecuadorian village of Pedregal, which is cut off from basic communication at an altitude of 3,500 metres.
MC2 founder Mike Perls and wife and co-director Jenny Morgan will live in a tent for 11 days while they work with 22 other people to repair the dilapidated school and create a football pitch.
Mr Perls said: “The Bobby Moore Fund is an amazing charity, and Bobby Moore’s widow, Stephanie, is a true inspiration. She not only campaigns tirelessly to raise money for bowel cancer, but also works through the charity to help children living in real poverty.”
Donations are still being accepted for thier mission to Pedregal. To donate, please visit www.justgiving.com/mikeperls-jennymorgan
