Engineer rebrands as Stockley

CONSULTING engineer Martin Stockley Associates has undergone a corporate rebrand by changing its name to Stockley.

The makeover, which has involved the creation of a new logo, website and follows a review of the firm’s positioning in the marketplace.

The Manchester-based firm, which was formed 13 years ago, used local firm And Partners to carry out the work.

The firm said that the name change more accurately reflects its status as it is now run by a team of experienced professionals, as opposed to one run by founder Martin Stockley with associates.

Stockley Director Stephen O’Malley said: ”The practice is thirteen years old and in its first eleven years we hardly had time to take breath” says O’Malley.

“Over the last 18 months we have taken stock of what we were doing. We have asked ourselves and our clients what we were about and where we were going.

“As a result of this process, we decided to develop our brand to reflect the fact that whilst the company was built on Martin’s reputation, the practice is much more of a shared enterprise and the name needs to reflect that.

“The company retains the same ethos and values and this refresh is simply about clarity, refinement and focus.”

Since its formation, Stockley has worked on projects in Manchester including Urbis, No 1 Deansgate, Timber Wharf, Chips and the redevelopment of public realm in Ancoats Public Realm as well as engineering the master plan and being lead consultant for New Islington Millennium Community.

Outside of Manchester, the firm has worked across on schemes including the recent redesign of public realm outside Liverpool’s Lime Street Station, the transformation of New Road in Brighton and building projects for University College London.

The company is based in Manchester’s oldest surviving warehouse, Carver’s Warehouse, on Dale Street. It worked on the recent repair and restoration of the building and Martin Stockley is co-founder of the coffee house on the ground floor, An Outlet.

Stockley’s 28 staff are split across two studios – Manchester and a London base which is used to help deliver projects in the South.
