Planners set to approve new Everton complex

A £9m retail and office complex at Everton Football Club’s Goodison Park ground is set to be given the go-ahead a planning meeting next week.
The Premiership club wants to build a four-storey block with 56,000 sq ft for a club shop, a museum, a cafe, offices and hospitality.
Last year plans for a new stadium in Kirkby were blocked by the Government.
The scheme, funded by the club, will be considered by councillors on Liverpool City Council’s planning committee on November 16.
A report prepared ahead of the meeting advises councillors to approve the scheme. It said: “The proposal will not have any adverse impact upon the visual amenities of the application site or the surrounding area and will not be detrimental to the residential amenity of neighbouring dwellings.”
Unveiling the plan in August chief executive Robert Elstone said the scheme will not negatively affect the club’s transfer kitty as the building would be funded from extended deals with catering partner Sodexo and retail partner Kitbag.
