Blog: A Manc among the Manx

I recently visited the Isle of Man to interview Dandara’s regional managing director Seamus Nugent (http://bit.ly/a0i2E5) and the island’s minister for economic development, Allan Bell (http://bit.ly/doPTG4).

During my stay, I also went for dinner with both and Bell was keen to find out if I’d had any preconceptions about the place before I turned up.

I had to admit that my knowledge of the island was fairly limited despite it being so close, and that my percection was fairly negative – based on tales told by a couple of people who had worked on the island and an expectation that like many Northern former tourist destinations, its best days were probably behind it.
