ACCOUNTANCY firm Duncan Sheard Glass is expanding in its Merseyside heartland with the acquisition of a rival practice.
The takeover of Bootle firm Eric N Jones & Co., will be DSG’s fourth office. It is headquartered in Liverpool city centre and has offices in Southport and Ewloe, North Wales.
The newly-acquired businesses, which mostly advises owner-managed businesses and personal clients, will continue to operate under the Eric N Jones brand, with the same staff led by Carol Jones, the widow of former principal Eric Jones, who died earlier this year. DSG partner Andrew Moss will become lead partner at the practice.
He said: “There are many accountancy practices where succession is a constant issue and we are confident that the continuing staff and client base will appreciate the backing of a firm like ourselves. I look forward to the challenge and getting to know the clients.
“Eric N Jones & Co. is an established practice with a good team, a trusted reputation and many successful clients. Our intention is to build upon those solid foundations by delivering the same level of care and service to clients and introducing the wider services available from DSG, the parent practice.
“Despite the economic uncertainty that continues to prevail, we feel confident that there are opportunities for growth and we will remain vigilant and open to such opportunities as they arise,” he added.
