Barristers exchange chambers to Kings

MANCHESTER and Leeds-based barristers’ set Kings Chambers has announced the arrival of new members David Casement QC and James Boyd who have moved to Kings from Exchange Chambers.

Kings Chambers’ head Dr Nicholas Braslavsky QC said that their arrival enhances the set’s strong reputation in commercial and employment law but was complementary to its existing offering.

“We are delighted that David and James have opted to join us here,” he said.

“David’s reputation as a commercial practitioner is well known both regionally and nationally and his addition to the team reaffirms our position as the leading commercial set outside London.

“James’ experience and reputation in employment law makes him an excellent addition to the set, showing our commitment to growing our practice group in this area.”

Casement was a co-founder of Exchange Chambers’ commercial department in 1993 and is a specialist chancery and commercial practitioner. In 2008 he became one of the youngest silks ever to be appointed outside of London at the age of 38. He will continue to also practice from Serle Court, Lincoln’s Inn.

Boyd advises on all types of employment disputes, appearing on behalf of employers, unions and employees at the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeals Tribunal.

“Kings Chambers has a long-established and highly-regarded commercial and chancery department, and a great team of leading and junior counsel supported by first-class management. I am delighted to have become a part of that team,” said Casement.
