Appointments: Brown to lead NatWest retail business & more

NATWEST has appointed Tony Brown as managing director of retail banking across the North.

In his new role Tony assumes responsibility for all of NatWest’s retail and personal banking operations in the North. This involves the management of more than 3,000 staff and 380 branches. He is based at NatWest’s North region HQ in Spinningfields, Manchester.

Mr Brown  was previously director of strategy and transformation for The Royal Bank of Scotland’s retail division.  He brings 26 years banking and financial services experience to the role.

Originally from York, he lives in Selby, North Yorkshire, with his wife and two grown up children.  He said: “The bank has a presence in almost 400 different locations across the North and my main goal is to deliver a helpful banking experience for all our customers.”

LAW firm Bermans, the specialist legal firm with offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow has appointed Paul Cassidy as a solicitor in its asset finance unit.

Mr Cassidy, who has has joined from the Companies Investigations team at The Insolvency Service said: “I am delighted to be joining a firm recognised for its expertise in asset finance and am looking forward to building on existing client relationships as well as getting out and meeting new people.”
