Kate Oldfield

Kate was appointed managing partner of Davis Blank Furniss in December 2007. Kate trained with the firm before qualifying in 1989, and in addition to her role as managing partner she also specialises in Personal Injury Law focussing on Clinical Negligence.

Kate has a varied caseload, including cases involving significant injury and brain damage. One of her most high profile cases was when she advised the majority of the families of 65 dead Sellafield nuclear workers whose body organs and tissue were taken for analysis without their knowledge. The Redfern Inquiry resulted in a Government apology to the families.

In addition, Kate advises companies on issues relating to health and safety (including corporate manslaughter).
