Richard Robinson

Richard is a partner and head of our Corporate department.  As well as managing the corporate team across our office locations he handles a wide range of corporate work including company/business acquisitions and disposals, equity fundraisings and investments, mergers, re-organisations and restructurings, joint ventures and start-ups.

Richard has particular experience in the financial services, leisure and healthcare sectors. He acts for a range of clients but has a history of acting for large corporates as well as smaller owner managed businesses. He also has significant experience in distressed corporate restructurings and acquisitions.  Recent examples of deals he has acted on include:

  • Leading the corporate team advising client Nelson Packaging, a Nelson based manufacturer with annual sales of around £6m, on its sale to trade buyer EDCAWI.
  • Leading the team that advised the management of Granby Marketing, a company providing direct marketing services and support, on their £3.8m buyout, backed by Enterprise Ventures.

Prior to joining Napthens in 2013 Richard was a Legal Director at Addleshaw Goddard in Manchester where he had worked for the previous 9 years acting for a range of corporate and institutional clients including Capita Plc, Wolseley Plc and Admiral Taverns Group Limited.  Richard lives near Chorley and studied Law and French at Leeds University and L’Universite Robert Schuman in Strasbourg where he also worked at the European Parliament.
