Plans to transform the former Kellogg\u2019s site in Old Trafford into a community of 750 homes, 200,000 sq ft of office space, a primary school and 100-bedroom hotel have been approved.<\/p>\n

Trafford Council’s planning committee approved the proposals, which are being developed by a joint venture between the council and Bruntwood Works.<\/p>\n

The 12-acre Lumina Village development includes 15% affordable homes and it is estimated the development will create more than 2,200 jobs.<\/p>\n

Andrea George, Regional Director of Town Centres at Bruntwood Works, said the project is part of its “wider strategy” with Trafford Council that also includes the development of the Stamford Quarter in Altrincham and Stretford Mall.<\/p>\n

She said: \u201cWe\u2019re committed to supporting the wider ecosystem of the towns and cities we operate in \u2013 Lumina Village will future-proof the area with the highest-standard housing and education facilities surrounded by a thriving commercial offering, catering to the needs of every generation in the community.”<\/p>\n

The 12-acre site is opposite Old Trafford Cricket Ground and forms part of Trafford Council\u2019s wider Civic Quarter masterplan.<\/p>\n

Cllr Andrew Western, leader of Trafford Council, said: \u201cThis exciting development on the iconic former Kellogg\u2019s site will provide much-needed quality housing, an excellent primary school, offices and a superb hotel. It will totally transform the area and create a fantastic place for people who live and work there.”<\/p>\n

The architect for the development is Feilden Clegg Bradley, Planit IE is the landscape architect and planning support was provided by Avison Young.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
