Liverpool City Council has appointed Deloitte to advise on the city\u2019s development and investment potential for the coming decade.<\/p>\n
The UK consultancy, supported by Planit, is to help draft a 10-year framework to release Liverpool\u2019s development potential in the 21st century and drive a multibillion-pound investment boom.<\/p>\n
The aim is to create a route map for Liverpool to become one of the UK\u2019s major economic powerhouses and build on the principles set out in the recent Liverpool Strategic Futures Advisory Panel report.<\/p>\n
This vision document, to be launched in the summer, will align key development and infrastructure opportunities to industrial and economic synergies in a bid to bring forward development in a comprehensive approach, with placemaking at its core.<\/p>\n
A key focus of the work will be to identify key development sites in the city\u2019s development pipeline which will be used to inform a place-based approach to regeneration.<\/p>\n
Planit will support this element by providing urban design, planning and architectural input to the strategy.<\/p>\n
Together with improved transport infrastructure the goal will be to redefine Liverpool\u2019s current investment offer and boost activity in fundamental key sectors, driving the city\u2019s productivity and growth.<\/p>\n
The work by DeloitteUK will be both informed and supported by the city\u2019s existing Local Plan, which predicts Liverpool\u2019s population will grow by more than 45,000 by 2034, as well as complementing future prosperity-policy building blocks such as the upcoming waterfront strategy and transport plan.<\/p>\n
The Liverpool Strategic Futures Advisory Panel, chaired by Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram, published its findings as part of its final report to support the city on its improvement journey last week (March 22).<\/p>\n
The Panel emphasised the need for strong, unified place leadership and collaborative partnership working as essential ingredients for sustainable growth.<\/p>\n
Steve Rotheram said: \u201cThis report is a culmination of nearly two years of hard work and collaboration.
