Warrington-based overseas golfing breaks provider, Sports Tours International, has improved annual profits after a substantial increase in turnover during the year ended March 31, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sales jumped from \u00a333.396m to \u00a372.864m. Pre-tax profits rose from \u00a33.334m to \u00a34.871m.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 118.2% increase in turnover reflects the successful execution of the group\u2019s strategic initiatives, the contribution of recent acquisitions, and strong organic performance across key markets, the company said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Staffing across the group, owned by the family of bookmaker Fred Done, rose during the year, from 54 to 106, and the company is atively seeking further acquisitions.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group expanded with the acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, of Windsor-based Golfbreaks Ltd, Europe\u2019s leading golf travel specialist arranging golf breaks, holidays, tournament experiences and bespoke travel for customers across the UK and Ireland, Scandinavia and the USA, on March 18, 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company said it expects a significant profit contribution from Golfbreaks in the current financial year, with the forward booking position looking particularly strong, providing confidence in sustained performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

No dividend was recommended for the year, after \u00a31.4m was distributed in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Notes to the accounts filed recently at Companies House say operations in the US, launched through the acquisition of an 80% stake in Destination Marathons LLC on the April 1, 2024, have continued to exceed expectations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sales in this region are substantially ahead of original forecasts and the US business has already achieved 99% of its FY27 budgeted bookings.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group also increased its stake in Destination Marathons from 80% to 100% on April 3, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it has signed a six-year strategic partnership with Club La Santa, Europe’s premier training resort.<\/span><\/p>\n

It said this long term agreement cements its position as a market leader in active and wellness travel, unlocking exclusive access and promotional rights that will serve to drive incremental growth and brand prestige over the coming years.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of this partnership, the business is investing considerable money in the development of a dedicated booking platform and website.<\/span><\/p>\n

It revealed that through this partnership, in financial year 2027 it has achieved record sales revenue of \u00a310.9m, a milestone that underlines the strength of its collaboration and the growing demand for Club La Santa experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

The notes say: \u201cLooking ahead, Sports Tours Intemational is exceptionally well-positioned for continued growth. Our sales pipeline remains strong, and forward bookings for FY27 are already materially ahead of the same period last year.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor FY27, Sports Tours International (excluding golf) has already achieved forward bookings of \u00a340.6m representing 97.1% of our budget, giving us great confidence in the strength of our forward trading position.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn addition for FY27, our two golf brands have already achieved forward bookings of \u00a3150.7m representing 83.3% of our budget, highlighting the success of their integration and the strength of our golf growth trajectory. We are also excited to announce that Cape Town will feature for the first time as a major marathon in our portfolio.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

They add: \u201cThis provides us with a new flagship event to promote, which will act as a strong driver of incremental growth in the coming years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFurthermore, we continue to be acquisitive, actively looking for businesses that complement our existing portfolio in sports and travel, aligned with our long term strategic objectives.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWith three strategic acquisitions in the last three years now embedded, international expansion accelerating, and long term partnerships secured, we are entering the next phase of our journey with confidence and clarity of purpose.
