Who are J Dickinson & Sons?
Founded back in 1939, J Dickinson & Sons first offered haulage services to the North West of England through horse and cart. Fast forward 83 years, and even with a massive expansion in facilities and over 60 employees, they still operate by the same values, ethics and beliefs.
At J Dickinson & Sons, they continue to invest in their staff, accreditation’s and the latest technology to ensure that they can continue to provide the best possible experience and support for all their customers.
Why supporting charities is crucial
Charity work is essential for everyone at J Dickinson & Sons. Not only is providing the North-West with the best service possible a priority, charity work is what makes the business tick.
With their traditional values, optimism, and passion for giving back to the community, they strongly believe that they have a duty to support local events and offer support to those in need. J Dickinson & Sons currently work closely with the following charities, organisations and community events:
Bolton Hospice
Bolton Armed Forces Centre for Veterans
Horwich Carnival 2019
Adlington Carnival 2019
Blackrod Scarecrow Festival 2019
Horwich Amateur Boxing
Bolton Lads & Girls Club
Horwich St Mary’s FC
Bolton Community Kitchen
Making Christmas a time to smile for everyone
As a business, they believe that their values should also be reflected by their actions. As a result of this, J Dickinson & Sons feel like they can generate more support for the organisations they work with and help spread their message to really make a difference.
Back in December 2021, throughout the pandemic, J Dickinson & Sons supported numerous charities throughout the Christmas period. They delivered a bin full of goodies to Bolton Community Kitchen with the items being used for their Christmas Party on 13th December 2021. This is a local non-profit charity in Bolton whose group of dedicated volunteers hand out food and clothes to the homeless, vulnerable and elderly.
They also delivered a bin full of goodies to Fortalice. Fortalice provides frontline services, including a refuge with flats, training and group work for victims who are – or have been – affected by domestic abuse and violence within Bolton and surrounding areas.
