Busiest hair clinic in the UK shows no sign of slowing

A leading surgical director, Dr Matee of KSL Clinics, has recorded record demand for hair restorative treatments following the Covid-19 pandemic.
With clinics in both Manchester and Kent, Dr Matee has seen an increase of 30% in both male and female patients looking for restorative treatments, all struggling with substantial hair loss due to the physical and psychological effects of Covid.
The increase in patients has led to an increase in business revenue, with KSL Clinics now looking at expansion plans in 2022.
Dr Matee is one of the leading hair transplant surgeons in the UK. A specialist in male and female, straight and curly (afro) hair transplants, he qualified as a medical doctor in 2009 from King’s College London and began his early surgical experience with medical electives at Harvard Medical School and the Trauma Centre in Dubai.
With over 10 years experience in all types of male and female hair loss treatment and hair transplant surgery, Dr Matee was staggered with the increase in demand for treatments following a series of gruelling UK lockdowns and patients suffering the effects of long Covid.
Long Covid can cause patients symptoms weeks or even months after battling the virus, with hair loss a common and devastating
On average, a normal person will lose small amounts of hair as it replenishes itself, shedding between 50 and 100 hairs per day. However, losing significant patches of hair or large amounts can be attributed to something more serious such as long Covid.
With the new and highly contagious variant, Omicron currently set to be the dominant variant across the UK, the nation is quite rightly cautious of the unknown symptoms and chaos it could potentially cause on public health.
Dr Matee said: “Quite rightly, there’s a sense of the unknown with the new Omicron variant and the stress and anxiety that the long spells of lockdown caused us have the public worrying we’re no better off than we were last year.”
“The stress of Covid-19 and the effects of long Covid have been clear to see. I’ve treated a staggering 30% more patients this year than last year, with the numbers still high as we look to enter 2022. Anyone who is worried about hair loss or the effects of long Covid should seek medical advice as soon as possible as there are a multitude of options available, both surgical and non-surgical, to successfully treat hair loss. This is still a strange time for us all and we must do all we can to look after ourselves and each other.”
As we enter another possible lockdown, Dr Matee adds that “the upsurge in patients seeking hair loss treatments is likely to continue and patients should feel confident they can get successful treatment.”
Dr Matee is a surgical director at KSL Clinics. He invented the minimally invasive MinSim FUE™ Technique which has become a favourite with his long list of celebrity hair transplant patients including high profile footballers and reality tv stars.
Having founded the British Hair Clinic, Dr Matee has operated for numerous well-known clinics across the UK and is fully registered with the General Medical Council.
