Businessman launches ‘David V Goliath’ dispute service to help ‘underdog consumers’ slay the giants

A North East businessman has launched a David V Goliath dispute
service to help “underdog consumers” take on the giants of industry.
Advertising executive Chris Joseph, 65, has established Right Against
Might (RAM) after seeing “a steady erosion of power” away from
customers and individuals.
The former business consultant with Saathci and Saatchi says big
business is riding roughshod over the consumer, with complaints
soaring and grievances going unresolved.
In the energy sector alone there were 20,000 more complaints to the
ombudsman last year compared to 2021 – a total of 105,340.
Mr Joseph says he is the right person to seek “swift justice” for
complainants because he has battled adversity for most of his life,
having lost his arm in an industrial accident aged 20.
While taking a year out from university he was working at a Teesside
iron foundry when his right arm was pulled into the cogs of a crane,
resulting in amputation.
Launching Right Against Might at Middlesbrough FC’s Riverside Stadium,
Mr Joseph, of Stockton, said: “When you face death like I did, you
come out of it feeling fearless and ready to take on anything.
“It has served me well in life and it makes me the person people can
turn to when they feel as though they are faced with an impossible
battle,
“I’ve spent a large part of my life fighting and being the underdog
and now I want to use those creative skills to help others who might
feel too intimidated to take on major companies who are trying to
brush them away.”
Latest data shows people who try to make a legal claim against an
organisation are waiting longer than ever for justice.
Many also find access to a resolution through the courts impossible
because of changes to legal aid provision.
According to the most recent Ministry of Justice figures, the mean
time taken for small claims and multi of fastrack claims to go to
trial was 18 months last year – between 14 and 18 weeks longer than
2019.
Mr Joseph says Right Against Might will initially take on cases on a
pro bono basis.
He said: “More and More organisations are getting away with ripping
off customers and clients.
“There’s no one like us out there because we are unashamedly
irreverent towards Goliaths. They can be individuals, organisations
and companies who seek to crush the Davids.
“We will empower these victims and show them how to fight back. Each
dispute is different and at the begining we work on behalf of out
clients on a pro bono basis.
“With years of experience in the advertising industry, we produce
communications or campaigns that are alwats legal, honest, decent and
truthful.
“Our imagery, messages and media clout are powerful and we work
creatively and strategically with out clients. The turth is simple. We
say in a few words what lawyers would say in millions.
“We can’t wait to get stuck in on behalf of our clients and we’re
contactable now at rightagainstmight.com.”
Engineering company boss Bill Scott, OBE, who owns three business on
Teesside turned to RAM for help following a customer dispute.
He said: “I turned to Chris after reading his autobiography. I was
stuck in a consumer dispute with a very major worldwide company and I
had nowhere else to turn.
“The conflict was resolved very quickly once Chris and his company stepped in.”
