Caesarstone VS Silestone

Caesarstone VS Silestone
Find out more about the difference between Caesarstone and Silestone.

If you’re looking for a countertop that is attractive, durable and easy to maintain, look no further than quartz. Caesarstone and Silestone are two of the top quartz brands on the market with a huge variety of colours, creating equally stunning kitchen worktops, but how do you decide which is best for you and your kitchen? Let’s find out the difference.

Caesarstone, formed in 1987,  is considered the original engineered quartz countertop manufacturer. The quartz countertops are renowned for their stain and heat resistance with several textures, finishes, and edges available.

Silestone is an engineered stone provider that manufactures quartz countertops, with one of the main advantages being their wide variety of colour options. These worktops are incredibly durable and have an excellent stain and heat resistance.

Let’s take a look at some of the differences between Caesarstone and Silestone.

Caesarstone is made of 93% natural quartz and 7% resins, while Silestone is made of 94% quartz and 6% resins, making them both just as durable as each other.

Silestone has a wider colour range, but its colours are either block or have very little detail, whereas Caesarstone has a wider pattern selection.

Silestone offers a 25 year warranty on all of its products once it has been registered, whereas Caesarstone only offers a 15 year warranty. With this being said, quartz surfaces are very low maintenance and long-lasting, meaning the warranty shouldn’t have to impact your decision.

Silestone quartz is slightly more affordable than Caesarstone, but that isn’t always the case. The prices depend on the colour you choose, as some colours are rare, meaning they will be more expensive.

Quartz is known for its non-porous surface, meaning that both quartz surfaces will be very hard to stain, even with notorious substances such as wine or coffee.

Both can be used for a range of purposes such as kitchen and bathroom worktops, and even flooring. The only restriction is that it is recommended for indoor use only due to the resins being UV unstable and if they are exposed to direct sunlight, it will lead to discolouration.

You can’t go wrong by selecting either a Caesarstone or Silestone quartz worktop. If you find a colour that you like and it fits your budget, you should choose it.
