A Scottish pastry-making business run by its founding family for four generations has become employee-owned. Cumbernauld-based William Sword stated that its transition to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) will give the company’s 85 staff direct control over their own future. Sword supplies pastry to butchers throughout Scotland, as well as to other pie-makers, food firms and stores across the UK.
