Bullet Express names new chief executive
Bullet Express’ chief operating officer Grant Donald is being appointed as chief executive, succeeding John McKail, who is stepping down from the role but will remain a non-executive director.
The leadership change will be effective from 1 November.
Donald joined the business a year ago, following senior roles at Movianto and DPD and has led the operations of the business across transport, storage and worldwide operations.
“These are exciting times for Bullet Express and I am privileged to take up the challenge of becoming CEO and leading the next phase of development for the business,” he stated. “I’d like to thank John McKail for his leadership, guidance and professional support since I joined the business and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him going forward.”
McKail led the private equity-backed management buy-out of Bullet Express in October 2023, and, after agreeing to lead for a further three years, put in place this succession plan.
“This is a natural transition for our company that helps me progress to the next phase of my personal plan, whilst still supporting the business,” he explained. “Grant’s experience and vision places Bullet Express in safe hands for the long term.”
Founded in 1990, Bullet Express is a privately-owned supply chain logistics business, serving UK, Europe and global markets with 130 trucks and trailers – and 160 staff.
It has around 500,000 sq ft of warehouse and transport capacity, with operations in Bothwell, Baillieston and Westway.
