Loganair cabin crew have backed an enhanced pay offer from the airline, ending the threat of strikes.<\/p>\n
Approximately 80 staff based out of Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Derry, Isle of Man and Southampton airports backed the deal which will see an 8% increase on the basic pay level.<\/p>\n
Improvements to standby payments and allowances alongside a one-off \u00a3500 payment will lift the overall package to 11.3% – and the deal will be backdated to April.<\/p>\n
Last week, 98% of Loganair cabin crew backed industrial action in a ballot organised by the Unite union.<\/p>\n
Carrie Donoghue, Unite industrial officer, said: \u201cThe deal over two years is well above inflation and it recognises the hard work of our members.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are pleased that Loganair ultimately seen sense and got back round the negotiating table to make an enhanced offer before any industrial action had to take place.\u201d<\/p>\n
Loganair chief executive Luke Farajallah commented: \u201cThis deal provides certainty for our colleagues and for Loganair over the next two years and reflects our commitment to investing in our people and the long-term sustainability of the airline.<\/p>\n
