{"id":8827,"date":"2026-11-04T11:31:53","date_gmt":"2026-11-04T11:31:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/scotland\/?p=8827"},"modified":"2026-11-04T11:32:11","modified_gmt":"2026-11-04T11:32:11","slug":"avant-homes-submits-plans-for-second-phase-of-91m-343-new-home-blindwells-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/scotland\/news\/8827-avant-homes-submits-plans-for-second-phase-of-91m-343-new-home-blindwells-development","title":{"rendered":"Avant Homes submits plans for second phase of \u00a391m, 343 new-home Blindwells development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Avant Homes Scotland has submitted planning to deliver the second phase of its \u00a391.5m, 343 new-home development at Blindwells, near Tranent.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed \u00a343.5m, 169-home second phase, which will be called Althamer Gardens, will follow on from the house builder\u2019s current \u00a348m, 174-home Althamer View development.<\/p>\n<p>Subject to planning, the proposed new phase will comprise a mix of one, two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, including apartments, terraced, semi-detached and detached properties. All will typically have an Energy Performance Certificate rating of B or above.<\/p>\n<p>If given the go ahead by East Lothian Council, work is anticipated to start on site in the spring, with the first residents expected to move into their new homes in late 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Avant Homes acquired the 10.4-acre site from Hargreaves Land &#8211; which previously secured outline planning consent for 1,600 homes at Blindwells in 2017 &#8211; for an undisclosed sum.<\/p>\n<p>Hargreaves Land\u2019s masterplan for the site also includes new education facilities, a healthcare hub, shops and other local amenities.<\/p>\n<p>Avant Homes managing director Jim Wilkinson said: &#8220;Our current Althamer View development has proven hugely popular with buyers at Blindwells and we are pleased to submit plans for this second phase to support in meeting the strong local demand.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to working with the planning officers at East Lothian Council on our plans to deliver more new homes at Blindwells and continue to grow the thriving community we have created.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Edinburgh-based builder currently has developments ranging from Darach Fields in
