The Range and Wilko owner CDS Superstores, headquartered in Plymouth, has reported record revenues of £1.7bn following its acquisition of Homebase.

Sales climbed 16.4% to £1.714bn in the 52 weeks to 1 February 2026, an increase of £242m compared with the previous year.

The performance follows the group’s acquisition of the Homebase brand, website and rights to 53 stores after it collapsed into administration in November 2024.

CDS Superstores has since set about converting former Homebase locations into The Range superstores.

CDS is also behind the relaunch of Wilko which collapsed into administration in 2023. 12,000 people lost their jobs as part of the collapse of the 93-year-old chain, which also had a £50m shortfall in its pension fund.

The previous financial year saw the business, owned by billionaire retail entrepreneur Chris Dawson, post revenue of £1.47bn, up 13.5%, while also returning to a pre-tax profit.

In August, the group agreed a £190m revolving credit facility with Wells Fargo Capital Finance, HSBC and Citi, more than doubling its previous arrangement, saying it would use the facility to fund investment in its store estate, technology, AI capabilities and supply chain.

Last month, the group announced it was is stepping up its digital transformation and strengthening its online offering after extending its fulfilment and courier management contract with logistics firm THG Fulfil.

CDS, whose brands also include Bathstore, agreed the multi-year extension to build on the two firms’ partnership that began in 2024.

Since then, THG Fulfil has provided fulfilment and courier management services for the home, leisure and garden retailer, using its automated hubs and warehouses across the UK.

The two firms have not disclosed the length of the contract extension, which comes as CDS looks to further invest in technology to strengthen its online offer.

This includes Google Cloud AI technologies to improve search and product discovery on wilko.com, and a platform developed by French e-commerce software company Mirakl to support the growth of The Range’s online marketplace.

CDS will also tap into THG Fulfil’s sophisticated warehouse system under which  95% of units sold pass through a form of automation during the fulfilment journey, including handling by a fleet of goods-to-person robots.
