Events and wedding venue up for sale

A grade II-listed Georgian townhouse and events and wedding venue in Wiltshire has been put up for sale.
Parade House, located in Trowbridge, was built in around 1720 for the wealthy cloth merchant Robert Houlton.
The building has been restored and refurbished by the current owners and is a popular and versatile venue for weddings, celebrations, private functions, film screenings, fine dining dinners, afternoon teas, conferences and many other events.
The business is being sold by Carey & Simon Tesler who said: “We are immensely proud to have saved this magnificent building which was near-derelict when we bought it almost three years ago. It has been a privilege to restore it to its former glory and create an exciting and prestigious new venue for Wiltshire.
“The events business has surpassed our expectations, generating enormous goodwill within the region. It is time now for us to pass the mantle to a new owner who has the vision and expertise to take Parade House to the next level as a luxurious events venue, and to build on the many opportunities lying ahead.”
Sam Roberts, senior broker – hotels, Christie & Co, who is managing the sale, said: “The property is an elegant and historical treasure in the heart of this county town. Currently trading as a wedding and events venue, it has been beautifully and painstakingly refurbished by the current owners and provides a versatile offering for an incoming buyer to continue the success of the current business model or to utilise the building in different ways.
“It’s a rarity to see buildings like this come to the market in such good condition and therefore we expect lots of interest in this opportunity to purchase a slice of history in this sought after area of Wiltshire.”
Parade House is being sold freehold with a guide price of £950,000.
