Developer looking to expand at Somerset business park

Developer  Summerfield Commercial has submitted a planning application to Somerset Council for improvements at a business park.

The new terraced units will be built to an EPC A grade and will offer prospective tenants a considerable amount of flexibility to suit a range of uses.

Each unit will have solar panels, allocated parking, and the option of adding EV car charging points. Ranging from approximately 163 to 3,000 sq. metres, (1,750 to 30,000 sq ft), the units are offered on a for sale or rent basis and Summerfield are currently working with a number of occupiers looking to reserve their preferred units and agree terms.

Summerfield Commercial are on target to deliver the terrace units by Summer 2025.

Summerfield will build and fit out the units whilst working with interested parties who can opt for combined units with dividing walls removed, mezzanine floors, office space and WCs as required.

Utilising natural daylight, the units benefit from windows on both the ground and first floor levels, roof lights as well as an eye-catching feature glazed canopy on the entrance doors. Eaves height will be 6.50 metres with wide insulated electric loading doors, blockwork partition walls and 3 phase electricity.

Many businesses have already chosen Westpark 26 as a base for their business ranging from distribution, warehousing, logistics and manufacturing centres, trade counters and offices. It has a Travelodge, gym, pub, and petrol filling station with a Budgens convenience store as well as restaurants and drive-throughs.

Westpark 26 is situated in a prime location on the outskirts of Wellington, the mixed use business park benefits from excellent travel routes and is within minutes of Junction 26 of the M5 motorway, and fronts the A38 which sees a high volume of passing traffic on a daily basis.

Ben Trickey, commercial director at Summerfield Commercial, said: “We are pleased to submit our plans for Plot 19 for determination. The units have been carefully designed to appeal to new or growing businesses and add further diversity of the park. We have evolved the design of the terrace buildings to be more energy efficient with renewable solar energy and a more contemporary look.”
