Housebuilder acquires sites valued at £17.5m in Somerset

Independent housebuilder Acorn Property Group has exchanged on the purchase of two new sites in Somerset with a development value of £17.15m.

The first of the new sites located in Congresbury will see the transformation of a former farm at Brinsea Batch which currently comprises a number of redundant barns and farm buildings.

The new development will offer an exclusive collection of 10 three and four-bedroom houses each featuring various degrees of conversion utilising the existing structures and retaining characterful features the majority of which will benefit from wonderful rural views.

Subject to planning approval, the sustainably designed homes will blend seamlessly with the local architecture and offer high-quality living spaces suited for modern lifestyles.

The second site is situated at Cricket St Thomas Golf Club.  The site is on picturesque golf course and rural landscapes from an elevated position and excellent accessibility to the A30, positioned between Chard and Crewkerne.

Subject to planning the proposed development will consist of 30 energy-efficient one- and two-bedroom apartments expected to appeal to downsizers looking for easy access to the desirable amenities of the South West.

Robin Squire, regional managing director, said: “We are thrilled to bring new homes to these beautiful areas of Somerset. Our team is dedicated to creating high-quality, sustainable new homes that respect the local character.”

The acquisition of these two sites marks the beginning of a very busy period for Acorn’s Bristol office as they continue their expansion across the South West.

Further acquisitions are set to be announced this summer.
