Professional services firm strengthens Bristol team

Global professional services firm has promoted Sarah Butlin to partner in its Bristol wealth solutions team.

The announcement coincides with the appointment of Matt Hurshman who joins the wealth solutions team as associate partner with a particular focus on developing Aon’s proposition for advising not-for-profit clients on their investments.

Sarah, who has over 40 years’ experience in pensions consulting, 35 of which have been at Aon, leads Aon’s governance team working with pension scheme trustee boards on their effectiveness and their equality, diversity and inclusion journeys.

She is responsible for the development and delivery of Aon’s governance platforms and client materials, ensuring that clients can access best practice solutions.

Sarah said: “Having spent such a significant part of my career at Aon, I’ve gained extensive experience working with clients throughout multiple evolutions that the pensions sector has gone through, and it is a privilege to continue this development within the Aon team.

“A large part of my role now is supporting clients to ensure their trustee boards are truly representative in every way of their fund’s members.”

Matt Hurshman joins from Barnett Waddingham where he spent over eight years as an investment consultant. He’s worked with numerous charitable and non-profit organisations to support them with their investment governance.

Matt said: “Charities provide an essential service to our society and returns on invested assets play a vital role in ensuring charities can continue to deliver on their aims long into the future. It is rewarding to play a part in supporting charities by providing an independent expert opinion on investment strategy and I am excited to be bringing my experience to a well-respected firm like Aon.”
