String of promotions and hires at affordable housing specialist

Dorset-based affordable housing specialist AJC Group has announced a trio of internal promotions as well as new appointments, prompted by an increasing number of residential development projects on site or in the pipeline.

The promotions include John Langley, Mike Young and Tarek Tabbah who have all worked for AJC Group for a number of years.

Langley has been with the business for a number of years with previous experience gained working for Midas group and Greendale construction. He has been promoted from the position of Senior Quantity Surveyor to Head of Commercial.

Young previously worked as a site manager at Bloor Homes before working his way up to Contracts Manager for four years. Prior to that he worked in site management for Churchill Retirement Living, before joining AJC Group in Feb 2021 as Construction Operations Manager. He has now been promoted to Head of Construction and will oversee the build programmes for all the housebuilder’s existing and upcoming sites.

Tabbah joined as Technical Manager in 2021 and has now been promoted to Head of Technical. Tarek, who studied Construction Engineering at the University of Portsmouth, is Beng Qualified and passionate about the design and delivery of large residential and mixed-use projects. He is also an active member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE). Previously, he was Technical Manager at Drew Smith Homes and Senior Technical Coordinator for Inland Homes, having commenced his career as a Graduate Civil Engineer for Persimmon Homes.

With the recent new hires and promotions, we are advancing and expanding our operations, in order to introduce more efficiencies and work with our partners to deliver the highest quality, energy-efficient affordable homes.”

As well as the recent promotions and restructuring of the business, AJC Group has welcomed Ben Robinson, Tracey Grayling, Scott Carey, and Nathan Janes, as new hires.

AJC Group is on track to deliver over 200 mixed-tenure homes during 2023, with a total construction value in excess of £100m.
