Wealth management firm expands into North West with acquisition
Wealth management and professional services group Evelyn Partners, is to acquire the northern offices of Haines Watts in Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle, for an undisclosed sum.
The teams in these locations provide a wide range of services and solutions to support entrepreneurial, owner-managed businesses, it said.
The acquisition will bring five partners, nine directors, and more than 150 staff from Haines Watts into Evelyn Partners’ fast growing Professional Services business, significantly strengthening its presence in the North of England.
The deal represents the sixth acquisition for Evelyn Partners’ Professional Services business since the start of 2023, as it seeks to augment its strong organic growth and broaden its geographic footprint by adding high quality firms with complementary expertise.

The deal is due to complete tomorrow, August 2.
In 2023 Evelyn Partners acquired Leathers (Newcastle and Harrogate), Ashcroft Partnership (Cambridge), Creaseys (Tunbridge Wells), Harwood Hutton (Beaconsfield) and a leading international disputes team for its Forensic Services practice.
Following the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson in 2020, Evelyn Partners has £61.8bn of assets under management, as at March 31, 2024, and is one the largest UK wealth managers and the seventh largest UK accountancy firm ranked by fee income.
It has a network of offices across 29 towns and cities in the UK, as well as the Republic of Ireland and the Channel Islands.
