Exeter Airport is flying high after industry recognition

Exeter Airport is flying high after it was ranked as one of the best airports in the UK for customer experience.

It was placed fourth in Which?’s annual airport survey of its members, and is one of five airports to receive Recommended Provider status by the consumer champion.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport was top of the rankings of 29 airports and terminals, followed by London City. Manchester’s terminal 3 and terminal 1 were at the bottom of the customer experience league table.

Stephen Wiltshire, managing director of Exeter Airport, said the fourth place “truly reflects the hard work and dedication” of the airport’s team.

He said: “Being rated so highly by our passengers, who directly benefit from our services, is particularly gratifying and underscores our ongoing commitment to excellence.

“This achievement, alongside our growth and the introduction of new routes, demonstrates our commitment to enhancing passenger satisfaction and strengthening regional connectivity.”

The recognition follows continued passenger growth at Exeter Airport which saw numbers increase by 8% in the year to March to 435,000 passengers across a range of 25 domestic and international routes.

That growth looks set to continue with Ryanair having started a new route to Palma in Majorca this summer. And TUI, the airport’s biggest operator, has already confirmed that it will base a second aircraft at Exeter Airport next summer, adding 80,000 seats.
