Council approves plans for homes near M5

Planners at Tewkesbury Borough Council have given their approval for a new build housing development on the outskirts of the town.

Barratt David Wilson Homes South West has received permission for a new 102-home scheme at Fiddington Fields in Ashchurch which will include a mix of private and social housing. The development will feature a mix of three, four and five bedroom properties – all of which will have access to electric car charging.

The development is part of a consortium site which is a five-minute drive from J9 of the M5, situated near Barratt Homes Bristol’s soon-to-launch 460-home development of the same name, and is set within 26 acres of open space land north of Milnes Covert.

Barratt David Wilson Homes South West expects to release for the first homes for sale in spring 2025 with first occupations next summer.

Louise Ware, sales director, said: “We’re eager to start on-site and provide much-needed, high-quality homes in the area. This scheme will be yet another fine example of how we balance development with environmental considerations, reflecting our commitment to creating vibrant, sustainable communities.”
