Property group secures interest in prime development site

Dorset developer AJC Group has secured interest and submitted a reserved matters application for a 2.59-hectare site near Sturminster Newton, Dorset.

The site already benefits from outline planning permission for a mix of open-market homes and affordable housing. AJC Group has submitted a reserved matters application to deliver 48 energy-efficient homes in line with the existing outline consent, which aims to meet local housing needs.

The developer aims to begin construction in 2025, transforming the site into a sustainable residential community. The new plans feature a diverse range of home types, suitable for first-time buyers, growing families and downsizers wishing to remain in the sought-after historic town.

Simon McFarlane, planning director at AJC Group, said: “We are thrilled to have secured interest for this development site in Sturminster Newton, and to have now submitted a Reserved Matters following the parameters of the outline application. This part of Dorset has a significant shortfall in new housing, and projects like this are vital to ensure local people can remain in the place they call home. This development represents our ongoing dedication to addressing the region’s housing needs.”

This site is part of AJC Group’s continued expansion across the Wessex region. The company currently has five additional sites under construction, including key affordable housing developments in Dorchester, The New Forest, and the Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole areas.
