Bath student development tops out

Topping out at Hollis Wharf

A mixed-use student accommodation scheme in Bath has topped-out, ahead of its completion this summer.

The 120-bedroom Hollis Wharf development, on the river close to the city centre, has been led by student developer Alumno and built by RED Construction Group.

The £13m development, which has been funded by Heitman, has a mix of studios and cluster bedrooms.

The ground and mezzanine floors will be occupied by local charity Mercy in Action, which has been based on the site for many years.

Alumno managing director David Campbell said: “This project has been a collaboration between our team, architects, contractors, and local stakeholders, and we are thrilled to see the vision come to life. The topping out signifies the strong progress we’ve made, and we’re looking forward to welcoming students to this exceptional new residence in Bath.”

The original planning application was supported by the University of Bath and Bath Spa who welcome the need for PBSA to free up housing for local people.
