Good Energy sponsors The Festival of Sustainable Homes for the second year in a row

Good Energy has been announced as the official sponsor of The Festival of Sustainable Homes, following the success of the 2024 show.
The event, due to be held in Swindon on Friday and Saturday 16-17th May 2025, is expected to attract thousands of people from across the UK.
The family-friendly show at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre will feature more than 200 exhibitors offering advice and information on how to make homes more sustainable, together with inspiring talks and educational tours.
The National Self Build & Renovation Centre surveyed 721 self-builders in August 2024 and found that 85% had budgeted for higher levels of insulation within their project, 71% for a sustainable heat source, like a ground source or air source heat pump and 67% for solar panels.
Electric vehicles (EV) were also forefront of people’s minds with 60% of individuals budgeting for an EV charge point at their home.
Research found that the top two motivations for taking on a homebuilding project were to achieve higher quality than a standard new build (4.6/5), to live in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly home (4.5/5).
Good Energy, based in Chippenham, has been at the forefront of clean energy for a quarter of a century.
In addition to supplying electricity backed by power from a UK network of more than 2,000 renewable generators, the company offers bespoke solar panel and heat pump installations to both domestic properties and businesses looking to cut carbon and costs.
Head of marketing Laura Wildish said: “We’re excited to support the NSBRC’s festival and look forward to it being a huge success for the second year running.
“People are increasingly keen to play their part in tackling the climate crisis, and there’s no better place to start than how we power and heat our own homes.
“The event will be perfect for anyone wanting to learn how to live a greener life.”
The NSBRC, at Lydiard Fields off junction 16 of the M4, is the UK’s only permanent visitor centre designed specifically to meet the needs of individual self-builders, renovators and home improvers.
Managing director Harvey Fremlin said: “With a 25-year legacy as renewable pioneers, based down the road from us in Chippenham, Good Energy are the perfect partners for the festival.
“We are excited to work with the team to help thousands of people to learn more about creating better, sustainable homes.”
