Mexican restaurant set for Gloucester Quays opening

El Mexicana will be the latest addition to the food scene at Gloucester Quays.

El Mexicana will be launching in the coming months, having taken a 600 sq ft unit adjacent to The Real Greek.

The new space forms part of a key gateway to Gloucester Quays’ wider retail offer, and diversifies the cuisines on offer at the destination.

Paul Carter, asset director at Peel L&P, said: “Providing new options at Gloucester Quays means we can truly appeal to all of our visitors, whether they live locally or further afield, and whether they want to grab a quick lunch or enjoy a meal as part of a full day out. El Mexicana delivers on all of these – their offer works for a number of visitation reasons, and they add a fresh take on a new cuisine for Gloucester Quays.”

Gloucester Quays expanded its dining options last autumn, with the opening of The Real Greek, which contributed to a 10.5% uplift in F&B sales for the year compared with 2019.

John Coverley, founder of El Mexicana, added: “Our take on some of the most famous Mexican dishes has universal appeal, and can be summed up in two words – fresh and vibrant. We are delighted to be joining Gloucester Quays, a place that has shown its huge F&B appeal and is continues to be relevant for a huge range of customers in and around Gloucester.”
