Window and conservatory manufacturer plots major growth following acquisition

London-based investment firm RDCP Group has made a major investment and acquired 98% of Somerset-based window, door, and conservatory manufacturer Majestic Group.

After a record year, posting around £8m in turnover and £2m in operating profits, Majestic is now targeting major growth.

Majestic Group comprises manufacturing company Majestic Window Designs (MWD) and its sister retailing and installation company Majestic Designs (UK).

Based in Cheddar, the business manufactures all its windows, doors, and conservatories from its state-of-the-art factories, which are installed to meet the highest industry standards.

Majestic has been in operation for over 20 years after being established by Steve Harris.

Majestic Group employs more than 60 staff.

Harris recently sold the business to RDCP following his decision to retire.

Majestic Group will operate business as usual with Jim Martin promoted to the position of group managing director working closely with Sameer Rizvi, Iryna Dubylovska and Paul Clunn from RDCP.

Sameer Rizvi, founder and chief executive of RDCP Group, said: “Majestic is a fantastic business with a successful track record of growth. Working together with Jim and the team, our focus is to expand the business even further and continue to deliver excellent products and services to their loyal customer base. It’s very much business as usual for everyone at Majestic Windows and we’re delighted to be part of this exciting new chapter.

“We want to thank Steve Harris, who founded the business several decades ago and has created an iconic brand, but now wishes to retire and spend more time with his family. Just like Majestic Group, RDCP Group is a family-owned business, founded by my wife, Iryna Dubylovska and I in 2015. In fact, one of the reasons we acquired Majestic was because of the similar family-style corporate culture that the business has. The other reasons are the long-term committed staff base, year-on-year revenue growth, the highly profitable trading history, and the well-invested state-of-the-art factories in Cheddar.”

Harris added: “Over 20 years ago I had a vision to build a company with old fashioned values and integrity. To build a company that offered only the highest standards of workmanship and quality of products and deliver a customer service that is unheard of in our industry. Together with a superb team of likeminded people, many of whom have become members of the Majestic family and have worked together for well over a decade I believe we have achieved that goal. It has been a very hard decision to retire and I will certainly miss all the amazing team but I believe the time is now right for me pass over the leadership of the company to a new team to take Majestic to the next level.

“RDCP operate with the same family values and principles and I know the company is in safe hands for the future. Finally, I would like to thank all our suppliers who have been amazing and our wonderful customers without who none of this would have been possible.”

Jim Martin, group managing director at Majestic, said: “For over 20 years, we have been serving Somerset homeowners with our outstanding service and building our reputation as the best in the business. We’re proud of the success we have achieved to date which has been achieved thanks to our high standards and excellent workforce. Steve has created a business that everyone at Majestic is proud to be part of and we’re looking forward to further growth.”
