Housebuilder donates to family support group

A Devon family support group has received the backing from Persimmon Homes.

The £5,000 donation comes through Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme, which provides up to £750,000 every year to good causes across Great Britain.

SNUG offers advocacy and wrap-around support to families who have been impacted by a difficult pregnancy, birth or neonatal stay.

Leanna Wakely, managing director at SNUG, said: “On behalf of SNUG, we would like to thank Persimmon Homes South West for this fantastic donation.

“This funding will make a significant impact to our community and service which offers vital advocacy and wrap-around support to families who have been impacted upon by a difficult pregnancy, birth or neonatal stay.

“Since our inception, SNUG has become an essential resource for the community of Devon, supporting thousands of new families to access the ‘right support, in the right place at the right time’.

“This significant donation will strengthen our service and allow us to increase our support to more local families, and we are incredibly grateful to the team at Persimmon in Exeter.”

Stacey Harris, sales director at Persimmon Homes South West, said: “SNUG is a truly outstanding organisation that goes above and beyond each and every day to support families who have been impacted upon by a difficult pregnancy, birth or neonatal stay in Devon.

“Persimmon’s Community Champions initiative is all about supporting the communities and people where we build, and given our roots in Exeter we are delighted to be able to support this local organisation.

“At the very heart of SNUG is the concept of people and communities, something which is also at the heart of what we do as a business.

“We hope this support ensures SNUG goes from strength to strength and increases its ability to support local families in Exeter and the wider Devon region.”
