Property consultancy doubles in size following move to Bristol

A property and construction consultancy says it has far surpassed its growth expectations having doubled its team since relocating into Bristol city centre in May last year.

Ridge has recruited more than 40 technical specialists in the last 12 months, growing its client base and adding additional services to its offer.

Senior appointments have been made in structural engineering, architecture, project management, and health and safety.

The firm has also seen growth in its sustainability and digital engineering disciplines, and has introduced a specialist lighting design team to service clients across the South West.

Driving the growth is an expanding pipeline of work in the healthcare, science and defence sectors.

In the science sector, Ridge is working with global life sciences business Cytiva in Cardiff.

It is also working with property developer Mission Street to transform an existing building in Bristol into a life sciences facility.

Ridge is working with North Bristol NHS Trust and the Royal United Hospital in Bath. Ridge also prides itself on its blue light work across the region for the police and ambulance services.

Ridge is also delivering project management services on the relocation of Bristol Zoo from Clifton to its new home at the Wild Place Project in South Gloucestershire.

The firm has also grown the reach of its Bristol office, servicing clients as far south as Cornwall.

Phil Baker, a partner at Ridge and head of its Bristol office, said: “It’s been an unbelievable year for us here in Bristol. Not only have we doubled our headcount, but we’re working on some of the most significant projects in the region. The growth has come naturally, developing our pipeline of work with existing clients and adding new services to expand our reach.

“Now, we’re looking at more retrofit projects, working on existing housing stock and bringing disused commercial buildings back to life. We’re also delivering more advanced manufacturing work from Bristol, servicing clients including BMW, Jaguar Land Rover and major F1 teams. Across our spectrum of clients, we’re also working to integrate sustainability and building information modelling (BIM) at every stage of development.”
