Gloucester chief executive announces departure from club

The chief executive of Gloucester Rugby has announced he is standing down from his role at the club.

Lance Bradley has announced his departure from the club after four years in the role.

The Kingsholm club has confirmed Bradley is moving on and chief operating officer and former player Alex Brown stepping in as interim chief executive with immediate effect.

Bradley, a former managing director of the UK arm of car maker Mitsubishi, announced the news with a post on social media.

He said: “After four amazing years at Gloucester Rugby, I’ve decided that the time is right for me to look for a new challenge. It’s an amazing club, and it’s been a pleasure and an honour to work there.

“Thank you in particular to the Gloucester fans. Every club thinks its fans are the best. But only we know that in our case it’s true. I’ll still be coming to games, so I’ll hopefully see you then.”

Martin St Quinton, chairman and owner of Gloucester Rugby Club, said Mr Bradley had decided to step away to allow a new leader to take the club “on the next phase of its journey”.

He added: “He has led the club through a very difficult period, not least the vast challenges of Covid-19, and leaves the club in good financial health. He can be proud of what he’s achieved both on and off the field.

“I would like to express my thanks to Lance for his contribution to Gloucester Rugby over the last four years. We wish him and his family the very best.”
