Historic Wiltshire brewery moves into new head office
A Wiltshire beermaker has opened its brand new state of the art brewery.
Devizes based Wadworth has officially opened its newFolly Road Brewhouse.
The Mayor of Devizes John Stevens officially opened the new facility.
The build started in 2022, with the state-of-the-art brew kit, supplied by BrauKon in Germany, arriving over 14 days and 29 lorries in December.
Throughout 2023 the brewhouse, distribution warehouse and offices have been transformed.
The move will allow Wadworth to brew traditional ales such as 6X, Horizon and Henry’s IPA as well as launch Folly Road craft beers.
The full transition to Folly Road Brewhouse will be a gradual process, with some operations still taking place at the historic Northgate Brewery.
Managing director Toby Bartholomew said the move will secure the long-term future of the business.
He added: “It’s very sad to leave the old brewery but we needed to leave and we have a bright future now.
“We’re really excited about everything that’s going on, it’s a big sum of money for us but an investment that is definitely worth it’s while for the future.”
