Vintage retailer enjoys best year to date

Vintage fashion retailer Love of Lemons has bucked the national trend and enjoyed one of its best years to date.

The company has secured a second start-bp business loan through the British Business Bank, bagging a coveted Muddy Stilettos award and has moved to new, larger premises in the vibrant suburb of Nansledan in Cornwall.

Established in 2021, the vintage fashion store was the realisation of a life-long dream for former teacher, Bex Osman.

An initial Start-Up loan saw her transform her online venture into a successful business, opening a shop where customers could enjoy her full selection of hand-picked vintage pieces as well as sustainable and unique brands of clothing and accessories.

With a loyal customer base soon behind her, Bex decided to expand, successfully applying for a second Start-Up loan.

With these funds, Love of Lemons has found a new home at more substantial premises in Nansledan with ambitions to open a second sister unit, Love of Vintage.

Love of Lemons was also crowned Cornwall’s ‘Best Women’s Fashion Store’ by Muddy Stilettos.

Attending the prestigious awards-evening at the Duchy of Cornwall, Bex summed up what the award, and her success to date has meant.

She said “Honestly, I am overwhelmed and shocked. I’m a small independent business at just two years old so this is the best confidence boost I could ask for. I would like to say a huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for me and support my dream. Without them, I wouldn’t be able to do this.” Seemingly bucking the trend experienced by many high street retailers, Love of Lemons is flourishing. With an award, greater premises, exciting plans for further expansion and a British Bank Ambassador status, the future certainly looks promising.”
