Healthcare company to provide rapid GP appointments as demand on NHS reaches record high

Bristol-based healthcare provider Healix Health has partnered with Teladoc Health, a global virtual healthcare company, to provide rapid, same day GP appointments to UK workers via Healix’s new platform YourHealth247.

Through the partnership, Healix Health clients and its employees will be able to access Teladoc Health’s 24-hour virtual GP services provided by GMC licensed doctors and will have access to online appointments on the same day. Prescriptions can then be delivered to patients’ homes or work addresses, and the service also facilitates a referral to other health services if required.

The partnership will drive forward Healix’s ambition to provide preventative health and wellbeing solutions to UK workers, with a patient first approach being taken in each appointment. The duration of phone call consultations is unlimited, giving clinicians the opportunity to talk to patients about more than one medical concern, such as dermatological issues, infections, musculoskeletal conditions, and mental health challenges. Patients will also be signposted to relevant services.

Since 2020, Healix Health has experienced an 18% increase in trust members as improving the health and wellbeing of employees has become a rising priority for businesses. According to recent research, almost one in five employers are looking to offer private healthcare to their staff in 2023.

The service will also be available to family members, providing access to high quality, patient led care and peace of mind 24/7.

Ian Talbot, CEO of Healix Health, said: “The partnership with Teladoc Health UK is vital for employers at a time when record levels of employees are inactive because of long-term sickness.

“Our data has shown that there’s been a 70% increase in GP appointments booked via our platform since October 2022, showing that demand is soaring for quick intervention.

“By offering rapid GP appointments to their employees, businesses will ensure employees stay healthy and happy, contributing to a reduction in staff turnover while supporting businesses to remain profitable. We are continuously looking to improve the service we offer to our clients, and the introduction of Teladoc Health further shows our commitment to investing in our services.”
